How did Eminence get involved
with the PDA pilot program?
The EMS 7th and 8th grade team got selected by being at the right place at the right time and BEGGING for help.
We had contacted OVEC for resources to assist in teaching our ESL migrant students. I contacted OVEC through email.
Migrant Technology was already looking for a class to pilot a PDA classroom.
Who funded the pilot program?
  And Why?
The Migrant Technology Project which is a division of OVEC, Ohio Valley Education Cooperative,  funded the pilot program.
Program is aimed specifically to assist middle school migrant students with their organization and technology skills.
This Grant was awarded to address the goals of the Migrant Technology’s Objective.
What was the initial objectives of the pilot program for the
Eminence staff & students ?  And what is the current evaluation of the objectives?
Our initial objectives were to see if the PDAS could give all students internet access, strengthen student technology knowledge and motivate students through a different means of teaching.
Initial evaluation of objectives-  The only objective not met has been internet access. Students can not access the internet currently without a $70-100.00  modem device and internet dial-up  account.
All other objectives have worked. More students have been given more practice with Windows based programs, operate the common PDA techniques with ease and troubleshoot their own PDA problems. And a few more students became more engaged in the classroom and found leadership skills through experience of the pilot program.
